Tagging Guidelines
Brandermill Church Children?s Clothing and Toy Consignment Sale (BCCS)

These guidelines are to help you sell your items. If you have any pricing or tagging issues, contact

IMPORTANT: 

We reserve the right to decline any items inappropriate, damaged, or stained.  If it cannot be returned upon receiving, it will be placed in a free pile or donated.

Gather the following supplies before tagging:

q      Sturdy WIRE HANGERS ONLY ? no clips (local cleaners, Wal-Mart)

q      Safety pins (stores such as Dollar Tree)

q      Clear packing tape (stores such as Dollar Tree)

q      Consignor Item Tags Sheet (see this page) NEW - requires Description of each item (use actual sizes of clothing)  No highlighting allowed. ONLY use white or light colored tags.  Items marked "YES" to Donate MUST also be marked "1/2 price".

Tagging Clothing

q      Choose size infant to teen clothing for current season

            (fall/winter for September sale, spring/summer for March sale).

q      Choose clothing in good to excellent condition with no holes, tears or stains.

q      Hang all clothes on hangers with the hook of the hanger facing LEFT.  The hangers are positioned like a ?question mark (?)? facing you.

q       Use safety pins to attach pants/shorts/skirts to top of hanger. (Tagging Ex.)

q      For multiple-piece outfits, pin pants to shoulders of top or attach hangers together.

q      Snap all snaps, button all buttons and zip all zippers.

q      Use a safety pin to attach the tag to Right shoulder when that garment is facing you. (Tagging Ex.)

q      Place shoes, socks and accessories in Ziploc bags and seal well with clear tape.

q      Tape tag to bag with clear tape, leaving part of paper tag exposed NOT taped for marking with pen at checkout.

Tagging Non-clothing

q      Test all toys and equipment. If any parts are missing, make a note on tag.

q      Place toys and small parts in Ziploc bag. Tape bag closed with clear tape.

q      Tape tag to item with clear tape, leaving part of paper tag NOT taped for marking with pen at checkout.

Tagging Tips

q      Make copies of Tags Sheet and Log Sheets provided on BCCS website.

q      Fill in consignor number on tag sheet and log sheet before making copies.

q      Mark tags with a number for each item after consignor number

(e.g. 450-BMC-5 ? item number).

q      Fill in the blanks for size, price and description. (e.g., red pants, Leap Frog game, 100-piece puzzle).

q      Price all items in increments of .25 (e.g., $.75, $3.50, $5.25).

q       A pricing guideline is 10-25% of the original retail price. (Pricing Ex.)

q      For multiple-piece outfits, write it on tag and pin tag on each piece. (e.g., 2-piece outfit)

q      Circle ?Y? or ?N? to indicate whether would like to donate item to charity and whether you would like item to go ? price during ? price sale. 

q      Please note: All items marked to donate to charity will go ? price even if ?N? is circled for ? price. This gives you a better chance to sell item before it is donated.
